During our time apart from our parish family, during this pandemic, we tried to think of ways to share our talents to help others. Kadee Dasher, and her family, have sewn hundreds of facemasks and given them away free to protect first responders, medical personnel and community members. Melbalene Bugajski and Barbara Narcarti have sewn several facemasks and surgeon hats and donated them to local hospitals. Some of our parishioners are reaching out to our elderly members to offer assistance with grocery shopping and running errands. Marsha Barker is an administrator of the St. Jude Facebook page and uses technology to keep our parish family informed and connected to other members of our diocese. Marsha assists Father Vicente with livestreaming the masses from St. Jude and posts encouraging messages from our priests and fellow parishioners. Marlin Barker usually played the guitar and sang during the mass before the pandemic. Since the COVID-19 shutdown, Marlin has recorded several of the St. Jude’s family’s favorite hymns and shared them on the St. Jude Facebook page. We encouraged the parishioners to sing along from home. We may be a small church in the country, but it sure does have a BIG heart.
